spiritwindow2Like Baptism which it completes, Confirmation is given only once, for it too imprints on the soul an indelible spiritual mark, the "character," which is the sign that Jesus Christ has marked a Christian with the seal of his Spirit by clothing him with power from on high so that he may be his witness.

Confirmation is received at the end of the 8th grade of instruction in the Parish Religious Education Program. A 2 year program (7th grade and 8th grade) is in place to instruct students about being a witness to Jesus, to serve others as Jesus did, and the importance of the Holy Spirit (the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit) in their lives. Classes must be attended on a regular basis and a student must have been attending classes in the Religious Education Program for 4 consecutive years or all 8 years prior to receiving the sacrament of Confirmation. A Retreat is also required and is usually given by the Parish. If the Parish Retreat is missed, then the student must find another retreat to attend and bring proof of attendance.
