Like Baptism which it completes, Confirmation is given only once, for it also imprints on the soul an indelible spiritual mark, the “character,” which is the sign that Jesus Christ has marked a Christian with the seal of His Spirit by clothing him/her with power from on high so that he/she may be His witness.

Confirmation is received at the end of the 8th grade of instruction in the Parish Religious Education Program (PREP). A 2-year program (7th grade and 8th grade) is in place to instruct students about being a witness to Jesus, to serve others as Jesus did, and the importance of the Holy Spirit (the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit) in their lives. Classes must be attended on a regular basis and a student must have been attending classes in the Religious Education Program for 4 consecutive years or all 8 years prior to receiving the sacrament of Confirmation or for 2 years after receiving their First Communion. A Retreat is also required and is usually given by the parish. If the Parish Retreat is missed, then the student must find another retreat to attend and bring proof of attendance. To receive Confirmation, the child MUST receive his/her First Communion and must complete 2 more years of PREP. As in the First Communion process, they must register for PREP every year they attend. Once you have the application, fill it out and send it to the parish office at 46 Central Avenue in Bridgeton with your payment. Applications are also available at the parish office. If you need your Confirmation and you are a teenager or an adult, you must enroll in the Parish OCIA program (formerly RCIA). Al igual que el Bautismo que completa, la Confirmación se da una sola vez, pues también imprime en el alma una marca espiritual indeleble, el "carácter", que es la señal de que Jesucristo ha marcado a un cristiano con el sello de su Espíritu revistiéndolo de poder de lo alto para que sea su testigo.

La Confirmación se recibe al final del 8º grado de instrucción en el Programa Parroquial de Educación Religiosa (PREP) o catecismo. Un programa de 2 años (7mo grado y 8vo grado) esta en lugar para instruir a los estudiantes acerca de ser un testigo de Jesús, para servir a otros como Jesús lo hizo, y la importancia del Espíritu Santo (los frutos y dones del Espíritu Santo) en sus vidas. Las clases deben ser asistidas regularmente y un estudiante debe haber asistido a clases en el Programa de Educación Religiosa por 4 años consecutivos o todos los 8 años antes de recibir el sacramento de la Confirmación o por 2 años después de recibir su Primera Comunión. Un Retiro también es requerido y es usualmente dado por la parroquia. Si el retiro parroquial se pierde, entonces el estudiante debe encontrar otro retiro para asistir y traer prueba de asistencia. Para recibir la Confirmación, el/la niño(a) DEBE recibir su Primera Comunión y debe completar 2 años más de catecismo. Al igual que en el proceso de Primera Comunión, deben inscribirse al catecismo cada año que asista. Una vez que tenga la aplicación, llénela y envíela a la oficina parroquial en la 46 Central Ave. en Bridgeton con su pago. Las aplicaciones también están disponibles en la oficina de la parroquia. Si necesitas tu Confirmación y eres un adolescente o un adulto, debes inscribirte en el programa OICA (antes RICA) de la Parroquia.
