At the heart of the Eucharistic celebration are the bread and wine that, by the words of Christ and the invocation of the Holy Spirit, become Christ’s Body and Blood. Faithful to the Lord’s command the Church continues to do, in His memory and until His glorious return, what He did on the eve of His Passion: “He took bread...” “He took the cup filled with wine…” The signs of bread and wine become, in a way surpassing understanding, the Body and Blood of Christ; they continue to also signify the goodness of creation.

Eucharist for the sick and homebound - Our Eucharistic Ministers bring Holy Communion to the homebound and patients at local hospitals and local nursing homes. For more information on the Eucharist for the homebound, call the Parish Office.

The Sacrament of Eucharist (First Holy Communion) is received by the age of 8 years after having been catechized (taught) for 2 years in the Parish Religious Education Program and/or when the child is ready after receiving 2 years of instruction. If your child needs his/her First Communion and is in 1st grade or 6 years and older, they must complete the mandatory 2-year Parish Religious Education Program or PREP. They must register every year they attend. Once you have the application, fill it out and send it to the parish office with your payment and a copy of the child’s Baptism and birth certificates (if it is the child’s first year in the program). Applications are also available at the parish office. If you need your First Communion and you are a teenager or an adult, you must enroll in the Parish OCIA program (formerly RCIA). En el centro de la celebración eucarística están el pan y el vino que, por las palabras de Cristo y la invocación del Espíritu Santo, se convierten en el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo. Fiel al mandato del Señor, la Iglesia sigue haciendo, en su memoria y hasta su glorioso retorno, lo que Él hizo la víspera de su Pasión: "Tomó pan..." "Tomó la copa llena de vino...". Los signos del pan y del vino se convierten, de un modo que supera la comprensión, en el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo; siguen significando también la bondad de la creación.

Eucaristía para los enfermos y los confinados en casa - Nuestros ministros de la Eucaristía llevan la Sagrada Comunión a los confinados en casa y a los pacientes de los hospitales y residencias de ancianos locales. El Sacramento de la Eucaristía (Primera Comunión) se recibe a la edad de 8 años después de haber sido catequizado (enseñado) por 2 años en el Programa de Educación Religiosa de la Parroquia y/o cuando el niño está listo después de recibir 2 años de instrucción. Si su niño(a) necesita su Primera Comunión y está en 1er grado o tiene 6 años o más, él/ella debe completar el Programa de Educación Religiosa Parroquial obligatorio de 2 años. Debe inscribirse cada año que asista. Una vez que tenga la aplicación, llénela y envíela a la oficina parroquial con supago y una copia de los certificados de bautismo y nacimiento del niño (si es el primer año del niño(a) en el programa). Las aplicaciones también están disponibles en la oficina parroquial. Si usted necesita su Primera Comunión y es un adolescente o un adulto, debe inscribirse en el programa OICA parroquial (antes RICA).
